Renovating your kitchen is one of the best ways to add value to your home. Replacing your countertops is a huge part of that process and can add more value than you realize. Therefore, it is important to know what the installation process looks like and how to prepare yourself and your home. Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing your kitchen for new countertops.

Temporary Spaces

From templating to installation, we streamline the entire process so that your kitchen will be back in working order in no time. Before the templating appointment begins you will need to move your everyday items out of the kitchen and place them in safe, temporary spaces. We also recommend preparing meals ahead of time or going out to eat in order to give the professionals space and time to do their job. Setting up a temporary space to cook and eat will help make this process as quick and easy as possible.

Remove Items from Your Kitchen

Remove any items on or around your kitchen countertops. This can include dishes, utensils, coffee makers, decorations, or plants. We recommend moving whatever dishes you may need for meals while your kitchen is not accessible. This will make this process easier for both you and the installer.

Prepare Your Space

Replacing your kitchen countertops is a construction process. Creating a clear path for easy access to your kitchen and laying down drop cloths or tarps will protect your flooring and minimize any mess. We also recommend covering the construction area’s entryway and vents to contain any dust, as well as covering any furniture in the adjacent areas.

Installation

Now that your space is prepped and cleaned, your installers will be able to complete their job on time and efficiently. Once you have chosen your countertops and received your free estimate, they will come out and remove your current countertop. Then they will measure and create a template. 5 – 7 business days after creating the template, they will install your countertops at a scheduled time and date. Installation takes anywhere from 2 to 7 hours depending on the size of your kitchen.

The most important thing throughout this entire process is communication. If you have any questions feel free to contact us via email or phone at 859-407-6970.
